J.C. Daniel Award for Navodaya Appachan.
J.C. Daniel Award won by Navodaya Appachan for this year, Chalachitra Academy chairman K.R.Mohan announced his name for J.C.Daniel Award, Committee presented him a cheque of 1 lakh rupees. Appachan who is the renowned producer of the Malayalam Cinema gave malayalam cinema 3D technology and 70 mm experiments.
Navodaya Appachan who with his brother Kunchako started first studio in Malayalam Cinema named Udaya Studio and later on Navodaya Appachan split with Kunchako to form Navodaya Studio and create biggest of classics of Malayalam Cinema. He produced "Manjil Virinje Pookal", "My Dear Kuttichatan" and other hit movies as well. This is the third time a producer gaining the J.C.Daniel Award.
