Review : "Makaramanju".
On the last week, Director Lenin Rajendran's malayalam movie "Makaramanju" released and it took too much time to reach to the theatres and it has something new to share about the life of Raja Ravi Varma. you can go for this movie if you like the pattern of Lenin Rajendran films. Its been a pucca Lenin Rajendran movie.
"Makaramanju" based on the certain passion of his life and narrates the story of painter side of Raja Ravi Varma. Santosh Sivan performed the character of Raja Ravi Varma, who is in the process of
creating a masterpiece. Santosh Sivan also done the pururavas. King who fell in love with the girl named Urvashi enacted by Karthika Nair. King proposes the Urvashi for to be his wife and She agrees to be his wife, but on her on terms and conditions. Raja Ravi Varma was living in his dream life as on one day, Urvashi vanished from the place as the king violated some terms and conditions put by her.
Bhagirathi performed by Lekshmi Sharma, is the wife of Raja Ravi Varma way back at home and Ravi Varma's stint with the model enacted by Nithya Menen, for the painting was very gloomy and went bad with the experiences. Santosh Sivan was at his best, naturally the most experienced cinematographer know how to handle the situation in front of camera. Karthika also looks best with the role of Urvashi and Sugandha Bai.
Special mention to the frames from the Madhu Ambat, which takes "Makaramanju" to another level. Jagathy Sreekumar, Poorna, Bala, Saiju Kurup, Chitra Iyer, Mallika Kapoor include the cast of this malayalam movie. Music is composed by Ramesh Narayanan for the lyrics of Kavalam Narayana Panicker, Chandran Nair and K.Jayakumar. Editing is performed by Mahesh Narayanan.
