Review : "Naayika".
Another Jayaram movie was released at the kerala box office last week, Director Jayaraj directs this malayalam movie "Naayika" with the plot of a earlier time heroine with the great success and on the sudden, she dissappeared from the malayalam cinema. Jayaraj moulded it nicely, but it lacks something, so its your choice to give it a look or not.
Well the story moves with the Aleena enacted by Mamta Mohandas, is going to make a documentary on the yesteryears actress Gracy performed by Sharda, who make it to the stardom in malayalam cinema and later she gloomed and cut herself from the mainstream. When Gracy's stars are on high in malayalam cinema, then there was a talk about her having affairs with then time actor
Anand summarised by Jayaram. Both of them instead planned their future life. They also adopted a girl child artiste named Vani. Gracy's life was full of happiness till an accident left her life in mess.
Incident was Gracy's love Anand and Child Vani's death, which effected her badly that she even can't realize that her old good days are over. Her supporters performed by Jagathy Sreekumar and KPAC Lalitha made Gracy to feel like that her old days are not over and She is still a big star. Aleena somehow succeeded in getting to the life of Gracy on her documentary. Old stars get all applause from the movie makers and "Naayika" used all the characters and places which resembles the old time malayalam cinema.
However Director Jayaraj recently came up with the movies like "The Train", which not so happening for the masses is now used all same kind of styling with this malayalam film titled "Naayika". Jayaraj can improvise upon that, but it looks like simple film. Jayaram again made his performances as usual apart from mimmicry of old stars. Padmapriya and Sharda has not get that much highlight, they needed. Mamta Mohandas made her nice appearance. Siddique make it to the good role with this film.
M.K.Arjunan mash songs are good with the touch of old song "Kasthuri Manakunallo" penned by Sreekumaran Thambi. Camera works are nice with the hands of Sinu Murukumpuzha. Deedi Dhamodharan's script should be some more interesting. For the banner of Makayiram Creations, Thomas Benjamin produced this malayalam movie "Naayika". Real Time Release bring this movie to the theatres as they are the distributors.
