Review : "Kunjaliyan".
Next movie released on the month of new year 2012 is Saji Surendran directed malayalam movie "Kunjaliyan", which in terms of humor can be taken, but in terms of story fails to impress as you can see the story has plot of gulf returnee "Kunjaliyan", which we came across manier times. However, If you still want to watch it, you are open to your choice.
Lets move to the story, Jayaraman performed by Jayasurya, also known as Kunjaliyan in Gopalapuram, was pampered by his three sisters after the death of his father and mother. Situation changed after the marriage of his three sisters, Three brother in laws doesn't give to much importance to the Jayaraman for his laziness and not doing any work. In this frustration, Jayaraman moved out of Gopalapuram to fly out to Dubai to became a rich man. In this hectic life of Dubai, fortune left him as Jayaraman lost his job due to recession. Jayaraman doesn't want to go
back to Gopalapuram until he reach the rich man status, but his friend Preman enacted by Suraaj Venjharmoodu, suggest him to return to Gopalapuram.
In this twist, Preman informed his family in Gopalapuram that Jayaraman won the lottery of fifty crore in Gulf. In this whole drama, when Jayaraman reach his village, get stun with the warm welcome and afftection bestowed upon him, then story moves to the another level of comedy which may tickle you or may be not. Ananya played the character of Maya, who's been the love interest of Jayaraman. Along with that Jagadeesh, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Vijay Raghavan, Bindu Panicker, Manikuttan, Kalaranjini, Tesni Khan, Reshmi Boban,Ashokan, Geetha Vijayan, Harishree Ashokan and others are just done their parts for this film.
Krishna Poojapurra's script have no where near as we compare it to his earlier films. Trio of Saji Surendran, Jayasurya and Krishna Poojapurra gave us nice movies, but somehow "Kunjaliyan" let it down. In the sense of masala entertainment, "Kunjaliyan" is on the average mode. Anil Nair's camera works are okay and Editing is performed by Kevin Thomas. Songs are pretty much nice with the voice of Yesudas, titled "Chembazhukka", lyrics penned by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma, B.R.Prasad and Anil Panachooran, Music is settled by M.G.Sreekumar. For the banner of Mulakuppadam Films, "Kunjaliyan" is produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam. Mulakuppadam Release brought this malayalam movie "Kunjaliyan" to the theatres.
