T. Damodaran passes away

1935 - 2012
One of the most successful scriptwriter of Malayalam Cinema, T.Damodaran died here today due to cardiac arrest. He was regarded as the best screenplay writers of malayalam cinema and gave many blockbusters to the Malayalee viewers. He was 77 years of age and also the well known theatre artist.


                                          T.Damodaran made his debut in the industry at the age of 13, while writing and comical acting, he used to earn his bread as a physical education teacher. His combination with Director I.V.Sasi is well known to the true Malayalam Cinema lover, Both of them gave hits like "Angadi", "Ee Nadu", "Ahimsa", "Nanayam", "Inspector Balram",
"Avanazhi", "Balram Vs. Tharadas" and about of total 28 films with I.V.Sasi in his career. T.Damodaran also worked with directors Bharathan in "Katathe Killikoodu", "Ithiri Poove Chuvana Poove" and Director Priyadarshan in "Abimanyu", "Advaitham", "Kalapani", "Megham".


                                                           Other films to his credit include Maniratnam's "Unaru", "Anaval Mothiram", "Mahathma", "Yes Your Honour" in which last one was his last scripted malayalam movie. T.Damodaran's bonding with M.T.Vasudevan Nair and Director Hariharan also gave special attention to the cinema lovers. Director Hariharan convinced T.Damodaran to write script for his malayalam movie "Love Marriage" in 1975, which brought T.Damodaran to the cinema field.


                                                                 This calicut born scriptwriter was survived by three daughters Deedi Damodaran, who is also the well known scriptwriter and made her entry with the movie "Gulmohar", while other daughters are Vava and Reshmi.
