Review : "Jawan of Vellimala"
Newcomer Director Anoop Kannan attempted the brilliant move by taking a socially relevant plot as his first movie, but somehow looks down with the expectations that "Jawan of Vellimala" had with its release. "Jawan of Vellimala" can be a average watch if you forget some uncanny disturbances taken place in the script. In a whole, this Mammookka movie disappoints with the execution style that may effect the viewer experience.....
This film talks about the people residing in a high range village named Vellimala and their feelings for the Dam in Vellimala. We have Gopi Krishnan (Mammootty), who takes the V.R.S from the Military service and came to this village to make his livelihood. People in the village considered Gopi Krishnan as a coward and from there on he faced many irrelevant
things in his life. A survey revealed that Vellimala dam is in danger and needs to be demolished, but villagers took on the protest against the demolition.
Gopi Krishnan smells the opportunity to prove himself with the revelation that the dam was built by some corrupted officers. Gopi Krishnan sets to dug up the mystery behind the dam in which he came across Varghese (Sreenivasan), chief executive engineer for the vellimala dam, who stays with his daughter played by Liyona. Anitha (Mamtha Mohandas), came as a subordinate to Varghese and we have Koshy Oommen (Asif Ali) came vellimala to meet Varghese to settle the payment issues of the dam construction which was done by his father. Gopi Krishnan's effort to save the Dam takes you to the climax, which looks pretty good.
Coming to performances, Mammootty stays the center of character where he done it with ease, though he hadn't have too much to offer. Sreenivasan, Mamtha Mohandas, Asif Ali, Baburaj, Liyona, Sunil Sukhadha, Kottayam Naseer, Sadikh and others made their parts pretty comfortably.
Director Anoop Kannan promised to be a good prospect as his direction protect some loopholes in the script. Scenarist James Albert took on the fresh subject, but lacks to give his perfect mold to the script, that leads to the unconventional style. Cinematographer Satheesh Kurup put on the best to make a beautiful visual treat, especially the night scenes looks perfect. Songs are nice with the lyrics of Santhosh Varma, Anil Panachooran and Venugopal and Music is tuned by Bijibal. Playhouse Motion Pictures are the producers of this malayalam movie "Jawan of Vellimala".

Charles Bonnet syndrome (CBS) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bonnet_syndrome) എന്നാ മലയാളികള്‍ കേട്ട് കേള്‍വിയില്ലാത്ത പുതിയ ത്രെഡ് കയ്യിലുണ്ടായിട്ടും അതിനു മികച്ച ഒരു ആഖ്യാന ഭാഷ്യം ചമയ്ക്കാന്‍ തിരക്കഥാകൃത് പരാജയപ്പെട്ടപ്പോള്‍ പുതിയ കളിപ്പാട്ടം കയ്യില്‍ കിട്ടിയ കുട്ടി അതിനെ ഇതു വിധത്തില്‍ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തണം എന്നറിയാതെ കുഴങ്ങുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലായിപ്പോയി അനൂപ്‌ കണ്ണന്‍ എന്നാ ലാല്‍ ജോസിന്റെ പ്രിയ ശിഷ്യന്‍. ഗുരുവിനു സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് തുടങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും ഗുരുവിന്റെ ഗുണങ്ങളുടെ യാതൊരു ലാഞ്ചനയും ശിശ്യനില്‍ കാണാതെ പോയി. വ്യത്യസ്തമായ രണ്ടു കഥാ തന്തുക്കളുമായി ഗുരുവും ശിഷ്യനും മത്സരിക്കാനിരങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ ആര് വിജയിക്കും ഏന് സിനിമയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭൂരിപക്ഷം പ്രേക്ഷകനും ഒരു തവണയെങ്കിലും ചിന്തിച്ചു പോയിട്ടുണ്ടാവും. പരാജയത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പരാജയത്തിലേക്ക് കൂപ്പുകുത്തുന്ന മമ്മൂട്ടി ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടു മടുത്ത ആരാധകര്‍ വളരെ പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ സമീപിച്ച ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു ജവാന്‍ ഓഫ് വെള്ളിമല.. കേട്ടത് ശരിയെങ്കില്‍ സമീപകാലത്ത് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രീ പബ്ലിസിറ്റി നേടിയ ചിത്രമായിരുന്നു ഇത്. പോരാത്തതിന് മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്നാ നടന്‍ ആദ്യമായി നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രവും.
ReplyDeleteസംവിധായകനും നടനുമായ ലാല്‍ ഒരു ചിത്രം നിര്‍മിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പ്രേക്ഷകന് അറിയാം ഒന്നും കാണാതെ ലാല്‍ അത് ഏറ്റെടുക്കില്ല എന്ന്(കോബ്ര ഒഴികെ). ആ പ്രതീക്ഷ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു മമ്മൂട്ടി ഈ ചിത്രം നിര്‍മിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ തോന്നിയതും. എവിടെയാണ് മമ്മൂട്ടിക്ക് പിഴച്ചത്? ഒരു പക്ഷെ കഥയുടെ ബീജം മാത്രം കേട്ട് അതിലെ പുതുമ ഉള്‍കൊണ്ട് തിരക്കഥ പൂരനമായും കാണാതെ സിനിമ ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഇറങ്ങി പുറപ്പെട്ടതുകൊണ്ടാവും. കഥാ ബീജം ഒരു പുതിയ മനിചിത്രത്തഴ്ഹ എന്നോ വിസ്മയതുംബെത്തെന്നോ അന്യനെന്നോ ഒക്കെ തോന്നിപ്പിചിട്ടുണ്ടാവും. സത്യം പറയുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ അത്തരം ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഗാനത്തില്‍ പെടുത്താവുന്ന ഒരു സിനിമയാക്കി മാറ്റിയെടുക്കമായിരുന്നു..അവിടെയാണ് ക്ലസ്സ്മെട്സ് എന്നാ ചിത്രത്തിനു തിരക്കതയോരുക്കിയ ജെയിംസ്‌ ആല്ബര്ട്ട് എന്നാ തിരാക്കതാക്രിത് പരാജയപ്പെട്ടത്. ക്ലസ്സ്മെറ്സിനു ശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം തിരക്കതോയോരുക്കിയ ഒരു ചിത്രം പോലും (ഇവിടം സ്വര്‍ഗമാണ്, വെനിസിലെ വ്യാപാരി) വിജയിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
തനിക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ ഇതു തരത്തില്‍ വിന്യസിക്കണം എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നത് സംവിധായകനാണ്. അതിലെ ഓരോ രംഗങ്ങളും പരസ്പരം ഇഴചേര്‍ന്നു നില്‍ക്കും വിധം അവതരിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ സംവിധായകന്‍ മനസ്സ് വച്ചാലേ സാധിക്കൂ. മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്നാ മഹാനടന്റെ അഭിനയ പാടവം മുതലാക്കാനോ ഓരോ കഥാപാത്രത്തെയും പരസ്പരം ഇഴചേര്‍ത്തു രസാവഹമായി കതപറയാണോ അനൂപിന് കഴിയാതെപോയി. പട്ടാളത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് പിരിഞ്ഞതിനു ശേഷം നാടിലെ ഡാമിന്റെ കാവല്‍ക്കാരനായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഗോപി എന്നാ കഥാപാത്രമാണ് മമ്മൂട്ടി ഇതില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. സി ബി എസ്(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Bonnet_syndrome) എന്നാ അത്യപൂര്‍വ രോഗം ഭാധിച്ച ഇയാള്‍ക്ക് പലപ്പോഴും മറ്റാരും കാണാത്ത മായിക കാഴ്ചകള്‍ കാണും. ഈ രോഗാവസ്ഥയെ മറ്റു കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളിലൂടെയും കഥാ സന്ദര്ഭാങ്ങളിലൂടെയും വിഷധീകരിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയാഞാതും കഥയും ഡാമും തമ്മില്‍ ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചു മികച്ച ഒരു ക്ളിമാക്സിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കനാവാതെ പോകുന്നിടത്തുമാണ് സിനിമ പരാജയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ഡാമിന്റെ ഉല്‍ഭവത്തെപ്പറ്റി തുടക്കത്തില്‍ ഒരു "അശരീരി " കേള്‍ക്കുന്നതല്ലാതെ പരസ്പര ബന്ധമില്ലാതെ സൂന്യതയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഉയര്‍ന്നു വന്ന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളും കതാപരിസരവും സൃഷ്‌ടിച്ച അമ്പരപ്പ് സിനിമ തീരുന്നത് വരെ പ്രേക്ഷകനെ വിട്ടൊഴിയുന്നില്ല. എങ്ങു നിന്നോ പൊട്ടിമുളക്കുന്ന പാട്ടുകളും ഇഴചെരാത്ത ഫ്രാമുകളും സ്രിഹ്ടിക്കുന്ന അലോസരം ചില്ലറയൊന്നുമല്ല. സിനിമടോഗ്രഫി മികച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും എടിടിങ്ങിലെ പിഴവ് സിനിമയിലുടനീളം മുഴച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നു. ഗോപി എന്നാ കഥാപാത്ര സൃഷ്ടിയില്‍ വരുത്തിയ പാളിച്ച മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്നാ നടന്റെ പ്രകടനത്തെയും ഒരുപോലെ ബാദിക്കുന്നു.
ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥ തലത്തില്‍ നടമാടുന്ന അഴിമതിയും ജനം എത്ര ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിയാലും സ്വന്തം കീശ വീര്പികനമെന്ന ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പടം ആളുകളെയും ഡാമിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ അനൂപ്‌ കാണിച്ചുതരുന്നുണ്ട്. ചില രങ്ങങ്ങളിലെങ്കിലും ബാബുരാജ്‌ മികവുറ പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ച വയ്ക്കുനതാണ് ആകര്‍ഷകമായ പ്ലോട്ടിനോടൊപ്പം എടുതുപരയാനുള്ള മേന്മ.
ഒരല്പം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ചസിനിമയോടൊപ്പം മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ തകര്‍പ്പന്‍ തിരിച്ചു വരവുകൂടിയാണ് ഈ സിനിമയോടൊപ്പം വിസ്മ്രിതിയിലാകുന്നത്.http://sijinalone.blogspot.com
