"Midnight's Children" show at IFFK gets a halt...
International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is in news for the premier of "Midnight's Children" directed by Deepa Mehta and now the news is that "Midnight's Children" screening on Tuesday was stopped with the protest by the Congress party.
Screening of "Midnight's Children" was stopped due to objection raised by the Congress party and in statement issued that the film shows
India in bad light and some controversial remarks against Indira Gandhi are not tolerable. Party also demanded a ban on this Deepa Mehta's directorial.
"Midnight's Children" is based on the novel by Salman Rushdie with the same title and features Sidharth, Satya Bhaba, Rahul Bose, Anupam Kher, Ronit Roy, Soha Ali Khan, Shabana Azmi, Darsheel Safari and others. The film is also showcased in Toronto International Film Festival and Telluride Film Festival, but its Indian premier is held at International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) and we heard that Minister of films K.B.Ganesh Kumar doesn't get the seat on this premier because of huge crowd. that's all we have with the politics........
