Santo Krishnan no more...
Famous for his role as 'Hanuman' in many mythological movies, actor Santo Krishnan died at his wife's house in Lakkidi, Palakkad on Saturday (July 6). He was 92 and suffering from old age ailments. His original name was Krishnan Nair and survived with the help of neighbour, living his life alone after his wife predeceased him.
Santo Krishnan had acted in over 1000 films in Tamil, Telugu,
Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and others. He had made his entry to the film world with movie "Mahaveera Bheeman" in 1935 and acted with movie icons like MGR, N T Rama Roa and Prem Nazir. Also acted in M G Ramachandran's last movie "Thalaivar" and gave new definition to the stunt scenes in the south Indian film industry.
Malayalam film industries 'Hanuman Kutty' affectionately called by Thikurshi Sukumaran Nair, Santo Krishnan had shared nice relation with Legends like Muthukulam Raghavan Pilla, Kottarakara Shreedharan Nair, Prem Nazir and Sathyan. In his last days he mainly subsisted on AMMA's (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) program 'Kaineettam'.
