"Ohm Shanthi Oshaana" Malayalam movie review
'Success finds its own way'....... this could be the perfect term for Jude Anthany Joseph directed Malayalam movie "Ohm Shanthi Oshaana". Narration sticks to its basics with nice bit of emotion and humour, indeed makers have tried to present something youthful. The movie caters everything that one would expect from this genre. In a sense, a feel good factor is there and if you are not so worried about values then this movie is a watchable one.....
As in every love story women gets wooed by man, but here it is vice versa. Pooja Mathew (Nazriya Nazim) is suave enough
to give someone a run for his money. She belongs to a rich family and pretty dear to her father Mathew Davis (Renji Panicker). On the other she is not much interested in studies and most of her time goes behind friends. In a kind of infatuation, she decides to go for a love marriage after taking some lessons from her aunt.
to give someone a run for his money. She belongs to a rich family and pretty dear to her father Mathew Davis (Renji Panicker). On the other she is not much interested in studies and most of her time goes behind friends. In a kind of infatuation, she decides to go for a love marriage after taking some lessons from her aunt.
In this juncture, Pooja accidentally met Giri Madhavan (Nivin Pauly), a graduate who carries a countrified look. He comes from poor background and used to do cultivation for earning his bread. Almost smitten by charms, Pooja finds herself in disdain, when Giri told her to put heed on studies. Story now moves through college days, where Pooja is studying for MBBS and confrontation with Dr. Prasad Varkey (Vineeth Sreenivasan) bring on the perspective change in her, which forms the rest of this story.
The director has maintained that promptness in the making, while in the first half it sails through pretty nicely but when it comes to second half movie seems to have some falter. Midhun Manuel Thomas and Jude Anthany Joseph have prepared the script that provide delectable variety in terms of dialogue and sequences. Vinod Illampilly's camera works suits the atmosphere, while editing looks good with Lijo Paul. Music and BGM by Shaan Rahman, again enhanced the flavour.
It's all for Nazriya Nazim, she is all there in center of attraction and deserves all praise for her exquisite rendering. Nivin Pauly again does his character with merit, while Aju Varghese done it sweetly with 'David Kanjani' to produce quirk in story. Vineeth Sreenivasan came up with handy role, Lal Jose, Vinaya Prasad, Shobha Mohan, Renji Panicker, Manju Satheesh and others have given their usual to their respective characters. For the banner of Ananya Films, Alwin Antony is the producer.
