"Avatharam" Malayalam movie review
The excitement was its peak before making to this movie "Avatharam" , but after watching this film all the expectations had evaporated in to the air. One can clearly observe that veteran director Joshiy has still not recovered from his bad phase. The film did not deliver any surprising element in the narration and even Dileep magic seems to have a miss here. It could be a treat for hardcore Dileep fans, otherwise an unutilized one.
Here we have Madhavan Mahadevan (Dileep), a typical village guy who
holds mechanical engineering degree and resides in high range rural village. A man who finds his pleasure by helping needy people. With the death of his elder brother Sudhakaran (Ganesh Kumar) in an accident, circumstances led him to the city for supporting his sister in law.
Now things go ahead with the insurance claim and his visit to their office, where our hero met his lady love Manimekhala (Lakshmi Menon). In the span of time, Madhavan get some important evidences about his brother's death, which points out to be a mysterious one. There on begins the hunt for the truth and reality behind whole incident, which forms rest of the story.
Scripting was a sloppy one, which didn't serve that thrilling punch. Scenarist Vyasan Edvanakkad opts out a stereotyped version and one would not find refreshing moment there. Director Joshiy seems to have didn't grip the changing aspects in Malayalam cinema. We won't questioning his credibility, but viewers would not like to see the same story again and again.
Narration wasn't find on suitable side, where first half was just put on meagre affect and rest second half generate some apt situation for the survival. R D Rajasekhar adapted frames in nice way, Edits from Shyam Sasidharan wasn't gave that delicate touch. Deepak Dev's music suits occasion and the lyrics were written by Harinarayanan.
After a long actor Dileep gets out to a serious approach (out of comedy) and did his role in mixed manner (bit of good and bad). Apparently this should also reach big box office figures that other below average movies of actor did in recent past. Lakshmi Menon managed it convincingly, Shammi Thilakan, Joy Mathew, Sijoy Varghese, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Kaviyoor Ponamma, Janardhanan and others have given their usual. 4B Productions banner, Dileep Kunnath, Udayakrishna and Sibi K Thomas are the producers of this film.
