Temporary ban on Tamil "Drishyam" over plagiarism charges
Ernakulam Judicial first class magistrate court has come out with a decision to put a break on "Drishyam" movie's Tamil remake, which will star Kamal Hassan in the lead. As per the report, Court has found similarities in Satheesh Paul's novel "Oru Mazhakaalathu" and "Drishyam" Malayalam movie. Therefore Additional Session Judge S S Vasan takes the case as plagiarism and copyright violation.
Earlier, professor and novelist Dr. Satheesh Paul had filed an injunction to
stop Tamil version remake and against director Jeethu Joseph and producer Antony Perumbavoor, for copyright violation and allege that "Drishyam" had been copied from his novel, which was published in May 2013. Satheesh Paul has also directed a movie titled "Finger Print" starring Jayaram and Indrajith.
The court has also announced a relief for the makers of Tamil version to continue the works by depositing a bank guarantee of 10 lakh rupees. Well that's all happening right here in Malayalam cinema and stay tune with us for more on this issue....
