Mala Aravindan is no more

1938 - 2015.

Veteran Malayalam actor Mala Aravindan bid adieu to Malayalam cinema this morning. Popular comedian actor Mala Aravindan died today (Jan.28) at the age of 76, in Coimbatore where he was admitted in a private hospital following a cardiac arrest. The funeral will be held tomorrow at his home town Mala.

 Born as T K Aravindan in Ernakulam, later shifted to Mala, Thrissur and this small town get place into the heart of every Malayalee
after this actor decided to prefix this town's name in his name. 

 Started his career as Tabla artist, later he shifted his focus to stage drama's with the plays of Kottayam National Theaters, 'Nadakashala' and 'Sooryasoma Theaters'.

 The actor had made debut in Malayalam films with the movie "Thalirukal" in 1967 however it wasn't got noticed and his first film was credited as "Sindooram" (1976). He had acted in over 400 films in his career that almost span 4 decades. 

 Mala Aravindan had worked with legends like Prem Nazir and Jayan. He also shared screen with Mammootty, Mohanlal, Soman, Jayaram and Dileep. Even he got his chance to act with younger generation as well. He was one of the integral part of trio "Pappu Mala Jagathy".
